Outstanding Catfish!

thanks to the locals we found a great place to eat!!
We were staying at the Hilton Hotel in Dec. and I asked a local where a good place to eat is and he recommended Stumpknockers, and it was great! I had the frog legs. It was a lot better than the ones I eat in Louisiana a few days before visiting family. We hope to come eat there sometime again soon.    [28 Dec 2003 13:20:48]

We went from Gainesville to Stumpkockers for lunch today and guess what? They are only open after 4:00 pm. Just so anyone else might want to know! Because of the word of mouth raves about the resturant, we do plan to visit again some day, after 4:oo.    [12 Mar 2005 16:26:36]

Great Dining Getaway...
Stumpknockers Restaurant on the Withlacooche River on Route 200 is near perfect in our estimation of wonderful places to eat.

The restaurant location on the river's banks adds greatly to the real outdoor feel of Florida and has tour boat rides if one so desires.

The food and many choices are much appreciated and the older waitresses know good service.

As a final note, their fried mushrooms are FANTASTIC with a glass of wine.    [18 Feb 2006 21:59:22]

My wife and I visited our daughter and family at Chritmas time and we ate at Stumpknockers. The alligator steaks were excellent. I can't wait to go back.

best fried shrimp on the planet!

Great Fried Oysters
I live so far away, I only get to eat there once a year.
