A Jewel! What a great little restaurant in a convenient location, albeit parking can be a little sticky on the weekends. The lobster bisque is so unbelievable and I swear I can hear my arteries clogging as I slurp it up because it's just that creamy and rich. Just got back from Maine and sampled some of their bisques...they don't even touch Gypsy's! The sea bass is a winner as is the tenderloin. The sauces are all very rich so this is not a restaurant for the "lite menu" lover. The back room is a little noisy so if you want to actually hear your dinner companions opt for a spot in the front. This is a great first date restaurant!! [16 Jul 2004 12:22:13] Food: Service: Ambiance: Overall: Recommended Dishes: the afore mentioned lobster bisque --winlou -
The best of his kind Gypsy's grill? What a treat. You won't find any fresh seafood who come as well prepared as the one you can have at gypsy's grill. Last time we ate there, we had to make up our mind about what we will eat. The "zuppa di pesce" was superb;the seabass, as always; good and well prepared with the lobster bearnaise that make it wonderful. My friend loved his NY strip which came perfectly cook:medium with creamy brandied bordelaise. The soufflees was the top notch; tell your waiter to leave the St Cecelia on the table because it,by itself is worth of dessert. I will recommand everybody to go there. Oh, by the way dont forget the "best lobster bisque" creamy, smooth and rich deserve his name.
