Mouth Watering
The pastries, soups and sandwiches in this establishment are second to none. The brownies and cookies are to die for. The croissants are always fresh and filled with tasty fillings (almond, cream cheese and strawberry to name a few.) The cakes and "hot cross buns" look just like the ones from your 1st grade reader. You know how they made your mouth water then. The soup's always interesting and it changes everyday. Think "lime totilleni, Southwest vegetable, tomato basil. Where do they find all the recipes? Community Bakery has it going on    [16 Apr 2003 17:52:38]

My Favorite!!
I am a frequent visitor to Community Bakery on Sunday after church - I just love their Chicken Salad Sandwich! Yes, it may be a little more expensive than a fastfood hamburger but at least it is fresh and wholesome. Also their desserts are WONDERFUL! My favorite is the tiramisu. Where can you get that type of dessert for only $2.50? And it's a pretty good sized portion! I give Community Bakery 2 thumbs up!    [26 Sep 2003 14:30:52]

ah, its okay but what do you expect...its community bakery
WORD OF WARNING: NEVER ORDER A CAKE FROM COMMUNITY BAKERY!!!! Don't get me wrong, the cakes come out beautiful...well decorated and all but they can never get the order right. On too many occasions did my family pay extra for filled cakes and got nothing but well...cake. And sometimes the cakes are sweet enough to give you a sugar rush that will make your head feel awful. Their coffee is okay, its great when its early and you just need a kick of caffeine but hey its no StarBucks. The cheese cakes are amazing. I love getting cheese cake slices in the River market, but yes they are high in price    [31 May 2004 04:26:49]

The Best Cakes in America
I now live in Baltimore, Maryland, but I grew up in Little Rock on Community Bakery Birthday Cakes. My family would not dare buy a birthday cake from any other bakery, and dare I say we have been doing it for over 25 years! I loathe the fact that I cannot find a bakery the quality of Community Bakery in all of the Mid-Atlantic Region. I have dreams of their Cream Horns and
and their Cookies. My only regret is that they don't have a National Delievery Service, and also the fact that they are closed during Christmas which happens to be my only time off to come and visit family in Little Rock. I am like a addict going through withdrawa    [03 May 2006 10:40:53]

The Best Chocolate on Chocolate Cakes in the World
For roughly $19.00 you can get a two layer cake filled and topped with the best chocolate frosting to come out of any bakery. The service is friendly and the cakes are professionally decorated and pleasing to the eye.

More importantly, the cakes are so moist and sweet. It is a lot of sugar but everything tastes sweeter when it is made ith the care that these cakes are.

For the best cakes in Little Rock call community bakery.    [08 Aug 2006 14:28:59]

Community Bakery - A Review
Everyone's always talking about a great dive here in Little Rock called Community Bakery. So, today, I decided to have lunch there. I ordered their mozzarella panini, an intriguing item that had me fidgeting excitedly on the edge of my seat as I waited for it to be delivered to the table. I'm always eager to try new foods.

What they brought me, however, was a $7.00 grilled cheese sandwich. Given its price, I started turning it this way and that, expecting to find a Versace or Lagerfeld label on it somewhere. But, no. Just some golden brown grill marks and what I'm assuming was olive oil, though I hope it was at least trans fat-free. One wants to ride a bandwagon, after all, when indulging in this kind of hyped-up atmosphere.

For a $7.00 grilled cheese, I felt anything less than a pretentious review would be remiss, so here it is--my first-ever food review.

Surprisingly mild-mannered, with dewy Tuscan overtones and just a hint of Venetian debauchery. It was like a subdued, aristocratic costume ball in my mouth, and my tongue was the courtesan. Unfortunately, the action that took place was decidedly Victorian, and it made my stomach feel like it had been subjected to the age-old torture of edging. It expected a great climax, but instead it was left half-empty and wanting more. Perhaps for an extra fifty cents, I could've had the sandwich enhanced to give me the moderate thrill of acid reflux, if nothing else. The satisfaction of eating it can best be summed up as messianic: always anticipated, but never realized.

Though I didn't try it, the roast beef sandwich looks, in hindsight, much more promising, and for considerably less money. It strikes me as the sort of sleeper fare that will turn out to be served with a side of leather chaps, a tub of Crisco, and arm-length latex gloves. Sometimes, the most unassuming selections prove to be the most adventurous, though you might want to check with your medical insurance carrier before taking the plunge to be certain they cover masticatory mishaps. This one just might have teeth--and steel studs--of its own. One can hope.    [07 Nov 2007 12:54:29]
