Good Seafood.
In a New York, Chicago, or DC this would be the best seafood restaurant in town. In Mobile it is merely good. [23 Apr 2004 12:55:26]

Marvelous!
We hit this restaurant by accident on our way to Florida from Houston, and we found a real gem.
I had the seafood platter, and the fried shrimp and oysters were out-of-the-bay fresh. The oysters even had that salty taste you get with fresh oysters on the halfshell. My girlfriend had fish that she loved.
After the meal we were each offered a complimentary serving of bread pudding. Not being a fan of bread pudding, I declined. But we ordered one serving just to try it. I could have eaten a gallon of it. It was to die for!
We wanted to stop there on our way back, but we passed through too early to eat. This is a “must try” restaurant! [26 Jun 2004 10:28:40]

Worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant
We had a reservation for 18 people, were seated on time. It took 1hr 30 min to get our food. The food came for about 6 people at a time, by the time the second group got their food, the first had almost finished their meal. All the portions were small and prepared the same. The rolls arrived after we were all finished eating, and the steaks were not cooked as ordered, even after the second attempt. Management took no responsibility for the fiasco, other than to say that we should have never come with a party that large on a Friday night (even though they accepted the reservation with no warning. we even gave Mandy our cell number to call us if there was a problem). It was an important night, we were celebrating a college graduation. The restaurant was blazing hot and there was no toilet tissue in women's restroom. [29 Jul 2006 18:04:56]

Best seafood restaurant!
I read the reviews posted prior to this and had to write. The Captain's Table is a family favorite, as we try to eat there as often as possible. The food is wonderful--fresh and delicious! The service is excellent. As with any restaurant, serving 18 people is very difficult--especially when serving as many different delicable dishes as the Captain's Table does. We live 12 hours away and have on more than one occasion left for a quick trip down to the Captain's Table and back. Wonderful! Best plate: Fried Crab Claws! No one serves these where we live!
