Overpriced tourist trap
This place is beautiful. There are lovely trees and flowers and surroundings. The ducks in the pond are cute, and the excitement of the tourists who frequent this place make you feel happy and proud to be an Alaskan. Then you eat. The food is good, but I have had better. It is WAY OVERPRICED! I would gladly pay half of what they charge. I paid over $100 for me and 4 friends to eat. They serve salmon and prime rib. Both are good. My friend complained that there was too much rosemary on her prime rib. For my taste, I believe the salmon was overcooked, but hey, it wasnt cooked for just me, it was for 100 people or so, so I took that into consideration. The employees cooking and serving were friendly. The person collecting the money wasnt. If you visit Fairbanks as a tourist, come eat here once, to experience it. If you live here, bring your Outside guests here for an Alaskan outdoor experience. Its about the experience, not the food. For better salmon, I can recommend several rivers about Alaska and the grill I have in my backyard.    [05 Feb 2005 23:07:35]
