Description:
Le Repaire is a brasserie overlooking the harbor. They serve American breakfasts, and the lunch menu offers salads and sandwiches. Dinner focuses on French classics, and on some nights includes fresh mussels flown in from France. The kitchen closes at 10:30p.m., but the bar, with a pool table and live music on the weekends, stays open until 1a.m.

Staff Abuse Recently visited St. Bart's as I have for over twenty years. Again I ate at Le Repaire. After a very nice meal, it was time to pay the fare and leave. I offered my credit card and upon return, I was told the service/tip was not included and the appropriate tip was 65 Euro. The bill was 300 Euro. I questioned the server a second time and was told emphatically I was obligated to pay the additional amount and could not be put on the credit card. Subsequently I was informed by another server, in Le Select as he was having a beer, the server was no longer at the restaurant. I was also informed that the manager was very upset with what occurred, but I was never contacted. Having been a visitor numerous times over the last twenty years, I am not happy that no effort was made to correct the mis-treatment. The people with me were local.
