Socialising At Azhang
Too bad that I am now away in Bangkok. This restaurant for a good 9 months had been my favoutite haunt. Although located in an unlikely place of Joo Chiat, the restaurant features a broad selection of special menu items as well as a very wide range of nationality in their clientele.
People go to Azhang more for social reasons then food. While the people running the place will tell you that the food is average, do not trust them.
They have never failed in surprising their diners with very authentic receipes ranging from European to Asia and America. [20 Sep 2005 01:25:00]

A mean Grill
Azhang serves up a mean grill. Imagine a grill platter that is at least 15 inches in diametre topped with 3 kg of meat and seafood.
The meats comprising of lamb, beef & chicken are marinated with middle-eastern spices while the seafood comprising salmon belly, giant calamari and hugh prawns, are grilled with red wine.
All these served on saffron rice with a refreshing salsa and romaine lettuce.
4 of us spent 2 hours on this platter followed by dessert of chocolate pudding with a cream whipped of scotch. This sinful dessert, their own creation is reserved for diners only and at $2.80, I can understand why.
With the platter at only $68.00++ it is real value.
This place also make their own pate as well as bake the foccacia which is served while you wait for the grill.
If you are planning to dine at azhang, you must have at least 3 hours to spent there, so as to seat through the enter music set.
I must say that they play about the best music, for a restaurant, in Singapore.
The decor makes you want to stay and linger, so be warned. [22 Sep 2005 01:15:25]

Visted Azhang yesterday - recommended by a friend @ No. 6 Mohamed Sultan Road Singapore 238956 & the food is surperb.
Not sure whether it's the same restuarant that you are refering as your address you have mentioned is @ Joo Chiat.
The Boss said that they were previously @ Joo Chiat but shifted to No. 6 Mohamed Sultan Road Singapore 238956 about a month ago. [25 Jun 2006 10:01:46]

Azhang started at Joo Chiat and now at Mohamed Sultan. Have been eating with them since they started at Joo Chiat. They have never failed to deliver good food. They do serve the best single malt whisky and excellent white wine.
