Bad Manager There were fourteen of us going for the meal at 6PM on a weekday. We were all National Service (NS) men and were having our leave at that time. Some guy suggested the place, so we just went ahead. Well, it gave me a bad impression just as I stepped into the place. The manager was not courteous at all. Could be the fact we all look like poor NS men.
I felt so unhappy by his unpleasent service. There were very little people there at that time, as we came early. He gave us a lousy table, right behind the cashier, saying the others were reserved. I took his word, but not later when the rest of the people came in and get to choose the table they want (mostly all dressed in office wear). Different groups of people even sat together in the other big tables which we intended to sit.
Aside from all this, I must say the food is very nice. And the staff there (other then the manager) are very polite and nice. Many different kinds of food were available. One thing bad about it was the teppanyaki. Sometimes it would be undercooked or overcooked. It really amuses me when it looked perfect until i turned both slices of fish over and saw that it was overcooked. Nice cover up by the chief I would say. Other then that, the place has a nice atmosphere and I would definately go there for a feast again. Not too often, as it's not cheap. And I would recommend people who want to go there to dress "better". Not very good I've been to Genghis Khan restaurant as well, went with my boyfriend and wasn't really dressed THAT well so I think they didn't really give us that good a service either.
Yeah, I agree that the teppanyaki needs a lot of improvement. Firstly, we couldn't order teppenyaki whenever we wanted. Secondly, the cod came too overdone and burnt. Not exactly good. It is also not a restaurant for you unless you like cold food.
However, the shishamo fish tasted great and I loved the wide selection of seafood, especially the oysters and crab.
Overall, customer service needs to be improved as one chef even ignored me while I apparently had trouble wondering if I could try the octopus. [07 Aug 2003 01:29:19] Food: Service: Ambiance: Overall: Recommended Dishes: Oysters, Scallops and Crabs! --Anonymous -
Thumbs Up... Went with my family, didn't encounter problem with their services. Food was great, and that oysters were really huge, not to mention tasty as well. Rich in variety, ranging from sushi to chinese 'tim sum', teppanyaki, fresh seafood. Beverages and deserts were also up to par.
Considered as one of the best I've visited, though the price is steeper than some hotel buffets. [19 Jun 2004 06:03:52] Food: Service: Ambiance: Overall: Recommended Dishes: Oysters --Anonymous -
