Delicious Dosais! Very good quality food. Their dosais are a must-try. Dosais (choice of plain or others with fillings - my personal preference is the plain dosai) come with the usual curry and yoghurt accompaniments. They also serve rice dishes. Huge portion with various curries. All dishes are vegetarian. [04 Nov 2003 22:43:31] Food: Service: Ambiance: Overall: Recommended Dishes: Plain Dosai --Anonymous -
Accompaniments Galore The Dosais and Idlis are served with 3 chutneys, a green (coriander/mint chutney), the usual coconut chutney and onion tomato chutney or gotsu as they say plus the sambhar, so you can say accompaniments galore. The food is good, ambience is OK but the service is very slow. [28 Dec 2006 03:30:32] Food: Service: Ambiance: Overall: Recommended Dishes: Idli, Rava Idli & Dosai --Anonymous -
Terrible Service attitude The Singapore Saravana Bhavan restaurant at Little India is a far cry from the Saravana Bhavans in other parts of the world. While the menu looks good, what is apalling is the level of service. The Manager of the place has absolutely no service sense and this goes down to the rest of the staff at the restaurant. Could give this place a skip for purely this reason. [17 May 2007 01:11:11] Food: Service: Ambiance: Overall: Recommended Dishes: Idli, Rava Idli & Dosai --Anonymous -
Horrible service With so much of feedback given, I wonder why there isn't any improvement?Their cashier just sits there chatting, even though customers are waiting to pay. When they finish their chatting, he doesn't even apologise. The manager is always either scolding his workers or using his mobile. The waiters make unneccesary comments. The service is one of the worst I've experienced! One has to queue to order, only to be told that they then have to take the receipt to the back to give it to another person. Those seated will have to wait and wait and wait. I wonder why such terrible service goes on despite such publicity on service standards? We give our feedback, but nothing is taken seriously. Our favourite place to eat! I've never experienced any problems with service in the last year that we've been frequenting Saravanaa Bhavan on Belilios Road. We love the food and this is the only restaurant that we eat at in Singapore (because others don't taste as authentically like home-cooked South Indian food).
My kids love the poori sets, while I almost always go for the special set meal.
When you go in the evening, you feel that you've been transported to India. (and, yes, I've eaten in their flagship shop in Parry's, Chennai) [11 Sep 2007 19:08:44] Food: Service: Ambiance: Overall: Recommended Dishes: Special Set Meal, Lime Juice, Tea, Idlies --Anonymous -
Service levels are improved. Food was great as usual. Service levels are improved. Waiters are courteous and prompt in their service.
This was my experience in several visits to Saravana Bhavan last week [30 Mar 2008 04:43:42] Food: Service: Ambiance: Overall: Recommended Dishes: Special Set Meal, Lime Juice, Tea, Idlies --Bala -
