Inconsistent Service
In a somewhat renovated restaurant in new IMM, Hoshi has an inconsistent look, with a some parts of the restaurant with a zen theme, and the others a family restaurant theme. The old tables in the newly renovated section were out of place.

Service had much to be desired. I arrived at 9.15pm, about 15 minutes before the kitchen closed and I was informed several times to make my order quickly before the kitchen closed. To add on to the unpleasantness, the waiter actually waited for us at our table, despite us telling him we needed more time to browse through the thick menu.

Food was the saving grace. The salmon sashimi was fresh and the chicken teriyaki teppanki was pretty well done.    [10 Jul 2004 04:28:33]

Fresh Sashimi and Delicious Teriyaki Cod Fish
The dishes served are fresh and nice. The price is rather expensive but reasonable for the quality.

Superb food
The price is reasonable as the portions are big and taste really good. The sashimi is very good, a must try. In addition the teppanyaki items like the beef are very good. Definitely the best Japanese restaurant I have been to so far.    [05 Aug 2006 14:05:38]

Cold Food
My family visited Hoshi, and to my surprise all the food came together although we order different from different menus.

My son and I had Teppenyaki, which came out relatively cold.
