Capella at Chijmes Dined here a few days ago. Very bad experience. Food mediocre at best but prices high for Singapore. Small servings.
Ordered Lobster pasta, very small serving, plate appearance poor, just a small mound of pasta mid plate, no garnish. Taste was heavy with paprika and tomato paste. Lobster pieces very small and only 3 pieces. Not adequate for a main course dish priced around 25$ Singapore.
Food service was poor, drink service frantic. Got the feeling they were out to ply you with overpriced drinks. Had to forgo wine as bottle of very ordinary Australian wine (retail in Australia around $8.00) was charged at $75 Singapore.
To be fair the salads were of good quality and very enjoyable.
The setting and ambience were first rate, let down badly by food quality on the night and ridiculous alcohol charges. Others at the table found veal and lamb dishes adequate but not memorable.
