The Locals Should Know An excellent place to sample the delights of Portuguese catering. It is possible to watch the well-organised kitchen from the comfort of your table! It was interesting to see that there were scales used to hygenically measure all of the meats and fish in such a way that the customers could see that they were not being shortchanged. The 'Front of House' staff were attentive and helpful whilst not loosing their obvious enthusiasm even when under pressure!
There were a large number of locals in this restaurant when I was there and I could see why. The quality and presentation of the food was excellent (especially after some lack-luster efforts in the town itself).
A '4 course' meal for two plus a 10 Euro bottle of delightful local wine came to just under 50 Euros.
PS: The 'Home Made' dessert that I had was the best I have tasted since I first encountered profiteroles in the early '80s! [12 Sep 2004 14:59:52] Food: Service: Ambiance: Overall: Recommended Dishes: desserts --Anonymous - thulitharn at hotmail dot com
